Virtual Book Tour: A Fistful of Love

The Questions
  1. 1)            You’re marooned on a small island with one person and one item of your choice—who is that person and what item do you have? With my fiancé and preferably a working phone. If that’s not an option, then my ereader. I have tons of books that need to be read!
  2. 2)            Which musical would you say best exemplifies your life – and which character in that musical are you? Hairspray! I am Tracy Turnblad and Tracy Turnblad is me! Dancing and racial equity is what I am about!
  3. 3)            Take these three words and give me a 100 word or less scene using them:  galaxy, jet, cream
Nikki sat on the bed next to Jacinda and smiled. “Would you like to take a ride to Las Vegas in my jet?” She asked.
“You have a jet? Since when do regional managers of food chains have access to that kind of luxury?”
“Since, I’m the cream of the crop. Yes or no?”
“No. Those things don’t impress me. Call me when you can take me to another galaxy.”
“Oh, that I can do. Lie back, and I can take you to galaxies unseen.”
Jacinda looked at Nikki and rolled her eyes. Then laid back.

  1. 4)            You’ve just been let loose in the world of fiction, with permission to do anything you want. What’s the first thing you do and why? I become the best friend of Craig in Lissa Reed’s Definitely, Maybe. I heart him so much!
  2. 5)            What is your idea of how to spend romantic time with your significant other? Date night at a sushi restaurant. Home after, music on and one of two things happens – lapdance or massage. I do the dancing, either of us gets the massage! And you know…the rest is herstory.
  3. 6)            When you start a new story, do you begin with a character, or a plot? I begin with a character (usually nameless) in a scene. I don’t have a plot yet.
  4. 7)            If they were to make the story of your life into a movie, who should play you? Disclaimer: I look like nothing like the women I am going to name. She is just an amazing actress and I am an amazing person, so…yeah!. Sanaa Lathan (There are so many more I could name that I would be honored to play me though)
  5. 8)            Who’s your favorite horror villain and why? Freddy Krueger – mainly because this was one of the very first horror films I saw and I loved it. To this day, no horror villain touches him for me.
  6. 9)            Do you have an historical crush and if so, who is it? No. I admire many, but no crushes.
  7. 10)          Is there a story that you’d like to tell but you think the world isn’t ready to receive it? No, I think whatever I pen, is a story that the world is ready to hear. In 2016, I don’t think there is much people are not ready to hear. I think there is just a lot we don’t know – by choice.

It’s over.
Two simple words, intended to signify the end, were instead just the beginning. Jeya took a deep breath, and the pain that pierced her side served as the reminder she needed. She hit the send button. Unexpected relief instantly washed over her. “I did it. Step one. Now for step two.” Jeya placed her phone on the bed and stood up to double-check her suitcase. Going over the checklist in her mind, she felt confident that she had the essentials. A week away from home required more than she’d anticipated, but she had no intention of returning until the rainstorm had passed. Jeya took a second to acknowledge the double entendre of the word. Her girlfriend, Rayne, was definitely a hurricane. Her temper was unpredictable and left damage in its wake similar to that which Hurricane Gloria had. She knew she’d be safer at Roman’s house for the next several days.
The lyrics to “Dangerously in Love” cursed the air. The perfect ringtone to describe her relationship. She braced herself as she walked to the bed and picked up the phone. Jeya anticipated nothing less than an explosive response from her short-tempered girlfriend.

Meet the author:
Renee Cronin is a self-professed devour of knowledge, and a voracious reader. She began writing in earnest in 2005, when the characters in her head became so loud she was forced to tell their stories, or risk getting swept away into the abyss of her imagination. Renee has since used writing as a personal outlet to express her feelings, ideas, views, thoughts, and opinions about the world and the issues that impact her on a deep personal and societal level. (And of course writing also quiets the voices in her head of the many characters that are yearning to have their stories told.) Renee’s inspiration to publish is in large part due to the overwhelming display of encouragement, and support from family and friends, who believe she has a gift with words that need to be shared with world. Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, she works in the social work field avidly advocating and supporting the varied needs of the people in her community. Renee is a bibliophile with a transcendent love for words. Her soul yearns for the acoustic stylings from a plethora of musical genres. As she continues on this journey of published author she hopes to keep her readers captivated and pining for more.
